I am a little confused at the seemingly lack of interest in what I think is the prettiest species of turkey there is. That and the beautiful scenery that most Merriam hunts takes place in seems to me would make them one of the most desireable species to hunt. They are as cheap to hunt as Rios and cheaper than easterns. All the hunts that we offer have unbelievable populations of turkeys, more so than easterns anywhere but there is very little comments on the Merriams. Just was wondering why.

I went and hunted them last year. It cost ended up costing us $75 a day/person and that was $25 more than it was supposed to. I have since found that there is a lot of private ground around that the landowners are willing to let people hunt for free. I would say that the intrest is there, it is just somewhere else. Does that make any sense??
