I wanna hear about the most memorable hunts you've been on with a friend!
I'll tell ya mine.
My best friend and i have hunted together since we were 10, we are right now 17, and during the 04 fall season i can remember sitting a feild and being about 100 yards from my buddy. at around day light he told me over the radio that i had deer heading my way, and with in 20 minutes i had 3 big bucks standing about 30 yards from me. (Too bad it wasn't deer season). while the bucks were feeding around the feild we were able to watch as a few small fawns came in and jumped around chasing turkies all over the feild, though we didn't shoot a turkey out of that feild that morning, it was just so much fun to watch, and i am glad that i had someone to share that moment with.

I've had a lot of great hunts over the years...and could tell a lot of stories... today we will go with this one...I will try to make it short... Pop and I turkey hunted together a lot...with my job I can hunt nearly everyday...when he retired we hunted 30 days a season...in 2001 he got bone cancer and by fall was not able to walk more than a few steps...opening day of 2002 in the Ms Turkey season was our first opening morning not to hunt together in nearly 30 years...I killed a bird that morning but it just wasn't the same...we got to thinking...Pop bought a Kawasaki mule...we put camo burlap on it threwhis wheelchair in the back and started hunting again....first morning we tried it we went to a powerline...got on two birds...they came in but walked at an angle he could not turn his gun too...he blessed me out for not killin one of em...we hunted this way several times the Mule didn't seem to hurt our hunting too bad...On April 20 we got on the same two birds on a pasture...it was later on in the morning...I was sitting about 35 to 40 yards behind him calling one bird that was gobbling decided to circle the other came on up...I couldn't see him but could see that raised gun...finally he shot...I took off and could see the bird in a heap flopping....I will admit I was so happy for him I cried while toting that bird back to him...it was his last...he passed away Sept 5 of that year...it is a hunt I will always treasure... By the way he was also my best friend....

One of the best Turkey Tales I know...Several years ago one of my turkey hunting mentors dusted a bird in Potterchitto Swamp...after that the bird would gobble his head off but wouldn't take a step towards any hen sounds..we all hunted him trying to kill him after that..this went on for several springs.
I have a friend we will call Mr. Robert. he broke his leg the day before spring turkey season started and had to stay home or hunt on crutches. He chose the crutches. Sometimes about 1st or 2nd week of April they decided to hunt this bird and drove the old jeep way down in the swamp to a good listening point...sure enough the old turkey gobbled. He was the only one that gobbled so it was decided Mr. Robert would hunt him and we would just listen.
The hunt commenced as usual, the bird would answer everything but wasn't coming. After a while Mr. Robert decided he needed to move and decided to crawl rather than deal with the crutches. Slowly he made his way to a new calling position and renewed the battle, Again he decided to move...we sat their and listened and before long Mr. Robert had crawled to the opposite side of the bird as we listened to the duel, we both whispered that it looked as though he might kill him this morning. the bird was moving towards him slowly but surely. After what seemed like an eternity of silence we heard Mr. Robert yell, "BOOO TURKEY!" To which I heard from his Dad, "what the *&^* is that*&^& boy doing?"
As Mr. Robert hobbled back to the jeep he told us grinning, "When he got in gun range I just couldn't kill him, everybody in this county has tried to call him up and couldn't...I did and I am happy!"
