I went to Nebraska this past weekend with the goal of calling in my buddies first bird, and hopefully getting one myself. The first morning out, I called in a decent 2 year old bird. He came running in, it was awesome. I told my buddy that it was up to him if he wanted to take it, it would be a decent first bird. Turkey fever got to him, so he had to take it. He droppped it at 35 yards. He was so excited. I coudn't of been happier myself. He just couldnt beleive that he got his first bird and how he came running in. We went back out that evening and weren't out there 15 minutes and we had several nice toms in range. I shot and dropped one and Dave filled his second tag not even a second later. These were mature birds. They weighed right around 20 pounds, not as big as the easterns that I'm use to shooting. They had 9 1/2" and 10 1/2" beards. It was quite the hunt. We still had time to shoot a coyote and a bunch of prairie dogs the next day. The first pic is me on the left and my buddy on the right, and the second picture is my buddy on the left and me on the right.
