I would like to say that I was encroached on in the wood by another hunter on Saturday morning and it was a grate thing to see.
I had a hunter I was calling for on Saturday morning just west of RT .739 on RT. 6
In pike county .
When I seen movement to my left at about 200 yard . It was another hunter moving in to set up . he only came in about 150 yard of the road and down the bottom of a ridge me and my hunter were on and we had 2 toms working at the time the hunter set up.
After setting up he began to yelp softly and got the attention of 1 of the toms right of the bat I could see if I continued to call I would just confuse the bird and nether of us would most likely get a shot at him. So we stay still and quit and let the other man make his play. I will tell you this it was a beautiful thing to watch. I could see him sitting and yelping softly and we also could see the tom that the hunter could not see . and every time he worked his box that tom would blow right up and sound off. But we could also see the 3 hens that were near the tom but still quit at this time the hunter was playing his hand well he would not yelp to the tom would seam to hold up then he hit him with another soft yelp and the tom would start on his way again . now I can see the hunter notice the tom because he turned abet to the tom and at the same time the hens started cutting and yelping. I thought what could I do to get the hen off him but all I could do was sit back and hope for the best . and the best was what the hunter was given them
He started to purr and cluck right back . well to end this the hunter got the tom to what looked like about 20 yard to us and dropped him in his tracks.
After it was all over I felt I should have paid moneys to see that show.
Well we tried to get out and shake his hand but the time I got out he was gone.
Boy what a day in the woods. As for us we hunted 4 more spots and never herd a thing
